One evening it was raining in the summer, jumped from the window and went up crouching on the bed beside me. On hearing that damp rain I woke up suddenly with the perception that he pooped and I found him wagging his tail in the dark. Small and thin, dark in color: the hair caked with excrement had assumed a tone of gray mouse, and stank so much.

I gritted my teeth and went back to sleep.
